Come Journey Through Japan with at the Hot Springs Convention Center on Sunday, March 21 from 1 pm to 4 pm. The fourth annual Cherry Blossom Festival is hosted by the Hot Springs National Park Sister City Foundation.
Hot Springs, Arkansas and Hanamaki, Japan have enjoyed a 28 year sister city relationship -- this relationship fosters friendships, respect, and understanding of other cultures. Annually a delegation of Hot Springs students travels to Hanamaki and vice versa. In addition to educational exchange, the program also cultural, arts, and citizen exchange.
The Journey will include a taiko performance, cultural items from Japan, and a stroll through a series of projections that will enable you feel as if you have traveled to the other side of the world.
Proceeds from the family-friendly event will benefit the Sister City Student Scholarship Fund which supports the student delegation. An online auction will open two weeks before the Journey and will conclude on Sunday, March 21. Admission is free. We ask you order tickets in advance for timed admission so you can enjoy a covid-safe event.
